4th Grade Raiders - Practices and Games
by posted 04/03/2021

Hello, Raider Nation -

As we gear up for the Spring Season, the coaching staff wanted to share some updates for the team and league.

Coaching Staff - Thank you to Coach Chris Capalbo for volunteering to Asst Coach in the wake of the passing of Coach Mark DuBrock.  The coaching staff has arranged for the Raiders' jerseys this season to feature an orange "MD" on the sleeve to honor Coach DuBrock.

Practices - The Raiders' flag practices will start Friday 4/16.  The first practice will start a bit earlier so we can get jerseys and flags to each player.  This will be changed on the website.  The start time will be 5pm.  Each practice after that will be starting at 5:15p and all practices will end at 6:30pm.

The coaches will be requiring the players to wear masks for practices.  Yes, we are outdoors, but the level we practice at does not allow for social distancing and we want to keep all of our athletes and families safe.

Please make sure your Raider brings the following: Water; cleats; mask.  Football gloves are optional, some kids love them...

Practices are currently scheduled to take place at the Montessori School.  This may change to the field at my home.  We have a large field that we can replicate our practice space on very easily.

Games - Flag games will commence on  Saturday 4/17.  Games will be played at Middlebrook between 3-6pm.  We will send weekly emails and texts with game information.

Thank you all for allowing your athletes to participate with the Raiders this season.  Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.  If you have not already sent your mobile contact number to the coaches please do so we can build a team group text chain.

Thank you.

Coach Mark DuBrock
by posted 03/25/2021

Hello, All -

As many of you may already know, Coach Mark DuBrock tragically passed Monday evening.

Our team has lost a great friend, mentor, and coach.  Coach DuBrock has been a part of the Wilton Youth Football community for a very long time with his children active in cheerleading, flag, and tackle.  Mark always brought a positive low-key attitude to practices and games.  He always took the time to teach the kids and encourage them to develop their skills.

Our hearts and sympathies go out to the entire DuBrock family while they deal with this tragic loss.

As a tribute to Coach DuBrock, the Raiders will dedicate this season to him.  We are exploring options of getting Mark's initials adorned on our team jerseys for the season.

Rest in peace, Coach DuBrock.

Thank you.

The Raiders - 4th Grade Flag

Greetings, All  -

Welcome to Raider Nation.

The Raiders coaching staff is very excited for our Spring season and looks forward to welcoming your athletes to the team.

Here at the Raiders camp, we like to have fun while playing football.   The practices are structured so our players have fun while learning proper football skills at each position.  We also think winning is fun.  That is sometimes considered an unpopular statement, but it's true.  We play for the love of the game, part of that love is driven by the thrill of victory.  So yeah, we will have our fun, and hopefully, win some football games in the process.

The goal for each game is for each player to have the opportunity to touch the ball at least twice.  This could be a running play or targeting them with a pass.  There is a chance that not everyone will have even touches, it happens...

The Raiders are built on a few fundamental rules, we wanted to share them with you so our parents and players understand the expectations of playing on our team.

Respect - We respect our teammates and our opponents.  Putting down another player for any reason will not be tolerated.  Showing a lack of respect will impact a player's time on the field.

Hard Work - All players have different athletic abilities and develop at a different pace.  We don't expect everyone to be at the same level, but we do expect everyone to give every drill and play their absolute best effort.

Listening - The Raiders operate as a team.  No one person can command more attention than anyone else.  Not listening slows down the practice, causes mistakes in-game, and spoils other players' fun.  It's not fair, it's not cool, and it's not tolerated.  Players that choose to not listen or cause a distraction will have their playing time impacted.

Mark DuBrock, will be working on our coaching staff this season.  We are very fortunate to have Mark as he brings passion and a true love of football to our practices and games.

If your child has any issues that the Coaching Staff should be made aware of please let us know.  Physical limitations, learning disabilities, anything that will be helpful for us to better coach your athlete is useful information.

Below is some general information regarding the season...
