Wilton Youth Football Refund Policy:

TACKLE
Tackle registration cancelations are subject to a $50 administrative fee and must be submitted via email by 9/5. On or After 9/6, cancelations will not receive a refund. Your equipment deposit check will be shredded upon receipt of the equipment.

FLAG
Flag Football registration cancelations are subject to a $25 administrative fee.

CHEERLEADING
Cheerleader registration cancelations are subject to a $25 administrative fee and must be submitted via email by 9/5. On or After 9/6, cancelations will not receive a refund.

NOTE: Competition cheerleading cancelations will not receive a refund.

WYF Multi-Player Discount
 
Families with more than two participants in the program:  For each additional child registered (first two paid in full), a refund of 100% of the enrollment cost will be given if the additional child is registered in Cheerleading or Flag Football and 50% for those registered in Tackle Football.  Full payment for all players is required at registration. Refunds will be distributed after the September 1 registration deadline.

When determining refund amount, we do not go by order of registration date. Instead, we look at the entire family and go by order of Tackle first, then Cheerleading, then Flag. Late fees are not refunded, nor is the $25 per family Capital Fee.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

The athletic trainer and all coaches are to be aware of oncoming inclement weather.  If a coach sees a flash of lightning, he is to notify the athletic trainer immediately.  A flash-to-bang count of 30 seconds or less should be used as the minimal determinant of when to suspend activities- all athletes and coaches are to be removed from the field and seek shelter indoors or under the bleachers.  Lightning safety strategies include avoiding shelter under trees and avoiding open fields and spaces.  Waiting 30 minutes after the last flash of lightning or sound of thunder is recommended before athletic or recreational activities are resumed.  The athletic trainer will notify coaches when it is safe to return to play.

Flash-to-Bang Method:  Begin counting seconds after a flash of lightning is seen. Stop counting when thunder is heard.  Divide this count by 5 to determine the distance of the lightning (in miles).  For example, a flash-to-bang count of 30 seconds equates to a distance of 6 miles (National Athletic Trainers’ Association Position Statement: Lightning Safety for Athletics and Recreation).
