2025 Wilton Sideline Cheerleading Overview
We offer two seasons (fall/spring) of Sideline Cheer and both support our Wilton Youth Football players from K-8th.
In the Spring of each year, we offer our traditional program for Kindergarten through 4th grade. These developmental grades learn cheers, stunt basics, halftime and sideline dances as well as work on jumps, flexibility and some tumbling and cheer on the sidelines of the flag football games. They have one practice and one game per week. For our older cheerleaders, we partner with Wilton High School's Varsity squad for a 5 week 5th-8th Grade Clinic where the cheerleaders can be pushed to try more advanced aspects of cheerleading before heading into 6th-8th for the Fall or trying out for the high school if they have come to the end of their youth experience.
In the Fall season, all cheerleaders cheer on the sideline for youth football. Kindergarten through 3rd grade will cheer for Flag football. 4th grade will split their season between flag football and Rookie/Modified Tackle. 5th - 8th cheer for the tackle football program, typically home at Wilton High School's Fujitani Stadium. Note: Older grades may be asked to travel within Fairfield County. All cheerleaders learn level appropriate cheers, stunt basics, halftime and sideline dances as well as work on jumps, flexibility and some tumbling.
